Q: Why are the GPS distances not matching the laser distances?

A: The laser will give you the distance to objects in your line of sight. The most common example would be the flag which normally is not in the exact center, front edge or back edge of the green. GPS readings in the Hybrid will give you distances to the front, center and back of the green as well as key hazards. Rarely will a golfer measure the same points using the GPS and the laser. In the case where the GPS clearly does not appear to be accurate, such as the laser shows 150 yards to the flag which is situated near the center of the green and the GPS reading for the front shows 160 yards. This may indicate that the GPS course file is out of date and should be corrected. GPS corrections can be submitted directly to our mapping partner by email: courseupdate@l1inc.com.

Q: How do I use scan mode?

A: When the laser is active press and hold the fire button which will continually read out distances as you scan.

Q: Can I change the distance readings from Yards to Meters?

A: The HYBRID can display the ranged distance in yards or meters. The unit of measure indicators are located in the lower right portion of the LCD. To select your preference for the distance units, start with the HYBRID powered off. While looking through the eyepiece, press and hold the POWER button down for at least 5 seconds. During this time all liquid crystal segments and icons will be displayed. After approximately 5 seconds elapse, you will see the unit indicators on the display begin to alternate between Yards and Meters. To set it to your preference, simply wait to release the power button when only the “Y” or “M” is visible. The device will always return to your last setting for the ranging units, so it will not be necessary to reset this before each use.
