What is the difference between the XGC and the XGC+?

The XGC+ is preloaded with front, center, back of the green distances and custom points (hazards) for courses throughout the United States and Canada. The XGC+ also has additional enhanced features such as auto-course recognition, auto-hole advance and a driving range mapping tool.

How do I register my GPS+ rangefinder?
A:
Within 45 days of purchase, go to iGolf.com to register your XGC+, which will update the preloaded GPS course data and load any new courses that have been recently added to the iGolf database. Registration is free and will only take a few minutes.
If a unit that has not been registered is powered on 45 days or more after the first GPS fix, it will not function and display a prompt to register online (which will restore it to normal operation).
Using the provided cable,
1. Connect one end to the mini USB port on the front of your GPS+ rangefinder and attach the other end to a USB port on your computer. The display will indicate “USB Mode” and your computer will recognize it as a standard USB mass storage device (no driver is required).
2. Go to http://www.iGolf.com, select ‘Join Now’, enter the requested information and select the ‘Join Now’ button to continue. Create your iGolf.com profile and select the ‘Save’ button. While on the My Profile page, select the ‘Sync Device’ button to register your GPS+ rangefinder.
Once your GPS+ rangefinder has been registered, you may have occasions in the future when you want to update the GPS data for an existing course, or download a brand new course. This can be done easily at anytime. First make sure your GPS+ rangefinder is connected to the computer, and that you are logged in to your iGolf.com account. Then, simply click the ‘Sync Device’ button-this will download all updated and new course data to your GPS+ rangefinder.

Why do I need to register my GPS+ rangefinder?

It is important to register your GPS+ rangefinder so that you can receive any software updates and course updates that have occurred since your device was manufactured.

Are there fees to download courses with the XGC+?

There are no fees to download courses or course images with the XGC+.

The GPS+ rangefinder did not locate my course automatically?
A:
1- There are “not enough satellites”.
You will want to move to a clear, unobstructed view of the sky (i.e. no trees, buildings or objects that might interfere with GPS satellite strength). The time required to acquire satellites may increase to 5-10 minutes for first use or if the GPS+ rangefinder has not been used for an extended period of time.
2- You can manually search for the course. See “How do I manually search for a course?” FAQ.
3- The course map is not in the device. You can visit
http://igolf.com/course/advanced_search.html to determine if it is available for download. If so, you will want to add it to your device.

How do I manually search for a course?
A:
Select Play Golf from the Main Menu. If you do not have a satellite signal you will press NEXT. Then MANUAL SEARCH and press OK/SHOT, then enter the name of the state using the UP/DOWN buttons. Select DELETE and press OK/SHOT if you make a mistake. If you get multiple results, select the state from the list and press OK/SHOT, then enter the course name (at least the first few letters. When finished, select “SEARCH” and press OK/SHOT. You should then be able to select the course from the search results.

To download a single course or course maps to your device, log in to iGolf.com, search for the course, select the correct course and with your device plugged into the computer select the "Download Scorecard and GPS" button. The course will be added to your device.

How do I update course information on my device?

Updating course information on your device occurs during a full sync. To perform a full sync connect your device to the computer, log in to iGolf.com and visit the "My Profile" page. Select the "Sync Device" button and all front, center, back and custom point data will be updated on your device as well as handicap and score syncing. The full sync should only take a few minutes depending on how many files need to be updated.

7. You may have to enter a security password that will be on the screen. After you have entered the security password you will need to select “Download GPS & Scorecard” again. The golf course will now be saved to your device.

The XGC+ will automatically advance to the next hole as you move around the course, but you can manually select a different hole than the current one at any time by pressing the Right (next) or Left (previous) toggle pad buttons.

The Bushnell GPS+ rangefinder is weather and water resistant. Light or brief exposure to water will not affect the performance of the device. The Bushnell GPS+ rangefinder should not be submerged under water.

The GPS+ rangefinder is extremely accurate and distances are usually within (+/- 2 yards).

How can I modify GPS points during a round of golf?

During play, while in Play Golf mode, press the Menu button. Select ‘Map Golf Hole’, highlight the point you would like to modify and press OK button. Go to the location selected and press OK button. Once the point has registered, highlight the save button and press OK. Repeat for other points if desired.

What if my golf course updates the course, can I update my GPS+ rangefinder?

Yes, if your golf course updates anything on the course, we will need to forward that information to courseupdate@l1inc.com, once the golf course is updated in the iGolf database you will be able to re-download the new course information. You can also map any points of interest to immediately update your device.

How do I power on/off the XGC+?

To power ON the device, hold “PWR” button down for 3-5 seconds until you see the Bushnell welcome screen appears. If the device does not power on after 5 seconds, battery may be drained and you should attach power cable and try again. To power OFF the device, hold button down for 3-5 seconds until screen goes blank. If the device does not turn off after 5 seconds, remove the battery.

Check to make sure you have the most current version of Java.
To check this you can go to: Start Menu- Control Panel- Java Icon. Once the Java Application is open you can go to About. The most current version, as of December 2010, is Version 6 Update 22.

My XGC+ is not receiving a GPS signal
A:
Make sure that you have a clear view of the sky, if there is not a clear view the unit may have difficulty connecting to the satellite signal. If there is no signal after 10+ minutes, you will want to reset the unit. Disconnect the battery and re-connect it. If the GPS is still not receiving satellite reception please contact Bushnell Golf at
