Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question about a recent order or a non-product-specific question?

This is likely solar burn — over time the device can develop small dots from sun exposure. The dots are cosmetic and should not affect performance. If solar burn becomes substantial enough to interfere with the viewing area, contact Bushnell Golf Support for options.

The Tour V5 Shift can be used to measure distance in yards or meters. The unit measure indicators are located in the lower right portion of the LCD. To select between yards and meters, press the button on the side marked Y/M. Press the top portion Y for yards or the bottom portion M for meters. The Tour V5 Shift will return to the last unit of measure setting used each time the unit is turned on.

Power the unit on by pressing the Power/Fire button once, then rotate the eyepiece in either direction until the display icons and numbers are in focus.

No, the Tour V5 Shift is water resistant, but should not be exposed to heavy rain or other direct streams of water and will not withstand submersion in water or other liquids. Damage caused by water is not covered under the two-year limited warranty.

Yes, follow these steps.

1. Blow away any excessive dust or debris on exterior (or use a soft brush).

2. To remove dirt or finger prints, clean with the supplied micro fiber cloth rubbing in a circular motion. Use of a coarse cloth or unnecessary rubbing may scratch the lens surface and eventually cause permanent damage. The included washable microfiber cleaning cloth is ideal for the routine cleaning of your optics. Simply breathe lightly on the lens to provide a slight amount of moisture, then gently rub the lens with the microfiber cloth.

3. For a more thorough cleaning, photographic lens tissue and photographic-type lens cleaning fluid or isopropyl alcohol may be used. Always apply fluid to the cleaning cloth - never directly on the lens.

Replace the battery when the unit won't turn on, the display doesn't illuminate, or the display goes blank when firing the laser. Use a quality CR2 3-volt lithium battery, inserted negative (flat) end first. We recommend replacing the battery at least every six months.

Yotpo AI-generated review summary

The Tour V5 Shift is praised for its accuracy, compactness, and high-quality features. Customers appreciate its clarity, strong magnet, and excellent optics, though opinions on slope and yardage vary. The range finder is considered the best on the market.

  1. Slope Button Failure

I got a couple of good years out of my v5 Shift until the B slope button broke loose from the device. I am not aware of any excessive force as I kept it in my golf bag. I had to open the device, find the metal contact and plastic pad that was formerly attached to the base of the button and I then glued the contact in slope mode. No issues otherwise.

  2. Love Bushnell!…however

Unfortunately, there is a delay in the jolt, which sometimes activates, and other times does not. Also, the slop feature does not always register the distance. I will reach out to Bushnell as I know that they have outstanding customer service and I’m confident that they will rectify my issues. Regret that I couldn’t give a 5 star review - and I will note that I have owned other Bushnell products and have had no issues - and I intend to continue to purchase Bushnell range finders because I believe they are first class.

  3. Accurate clear view through lense.

Accurate clear view through lense. Distance is spot on. Good size for my larger hands. No vibration while taking a reading.

  4. I bought it and had

I bought it and had to return it as i found my original range finder. This never should’ve been shipped as i immediately cancelled my order. It has taken way to long to process my refund this is extremely frustrating and disappointing.

  5. Tour V5

Not thrilled that I had to buy a second one since my first one stopped working properly. You guys should consider repairing a unit.

  6. Good Rangefinder with Some Design Flaws

Works well, but slope on/off button, which is raised, broke off and has left me unable to switch the slope measurement on and off. Of course this happened right after 2 years (warranty is for 2 years)!

  7. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE

I bought my first rangefinder, Tour V5 Shift , 2 years ago I couldn’t be more happier. A month ago, the switch for the slope fell off, I called Bushnell, I followed their instructions and recommendations. Within 10 business days, Bushnell replaced my equipment with another one. No questions asked, THANK YOU. J. Rico

  8. All I've ever used

Bushnell has been in my golf bag for over 25 years. I love their product. My last one (which is why I had to buy another one) didn't last as long as I thought it should. I was sad that it only lasted between 4-5 years. But I got another one, so I'm not too mad. Haha. This one doesn’t seem to lock in on the flag as quickly as my previous one, so we'll see.

  9. Simple and helpful

Definitely a good sidekick for a round of golf. It’s definitely a good tool to help commit to a shot. It’s very easy to use and accurate.
